Volcanic winters and astrological aspects

In the past centuries there were some volcanic winters (very cold years following a major volcanic eruption). These caused disruptions in agriculture, famines and socio-economic unrest.
  • 535. Uranus/Saturn conjunction (in Leo), opposed by Neptune (in Aquarius), and formed a T-SQUARE with Jupiter (in Scorpio). Pluto in early Capricorn. Worldwide famine.
  • 1258. Square Pluto/Saturn (in Sag/Pis), opposition Uranus/Jupiter (in Ari/Lib), Neptune in Cancer. Some famine.
  • 1315. Nine years following a Uranus/Neptune/Saturn/Jupiter mega CONJUNTION in Scorpio. During the event, a major Uranus/Pluto square (in mid Sagittarius and Pisces), with Saturn in Capricorn. Two years later, Neptune/Saturn square and Pluto/Saturn conjunction. Great famine.
  • 1452. Two years later a Uranus/Pluto conjunction (in mid Leo), that formed a T-SQUARE with Saturn (Scorpio) and Jupiter (Taurus). Fall of Constantinople.
  • 1600. Two years after a Uranus/Pluto conjunction (in mid Aries), that formed a T-SQUARE with Saturn (in Libra) and Jupiter (in Cancer). Neptune in Virgo. Significant famine.
  • 1783. T-SQUARE between Saturn/Jupiter (in mid Capricorn), Uranus (in Cancer), Neptune (in Libra). Pluto in Aquarius. French Revolution.
  • 1815. Three years later there is a DOUBLE square between Pluto/Saturn (in late Pisces) to Uranus/Neptune (in Sagittarius). The Pluto/Neptune square was already occuring at the time of the eruption. Jupiter in Libra. Year without summer.
  • 1883. One year after two major conjunctions Neptune/Saturn and Pluto/Saturn in Taurus. Uranus in Virgo. Jupiter in Cancer. Long depression.
  • 1991. One year after the triple conjunction of Uranus/Neptune/Saturn (in early Capricorn), opposed by Jupiter (in Cancer). Pluto in Scorpio. Pinatubo eruption.
Which astrological factors are recurrent?
- T-squares, squares and conjunctions between 3 or more planets
- A tendency for cardinal signs
- A tendency for an outer planet transiting an earth sign
  • 2011. T-square between Uranus/Jupiter (in Aries), Saturn (in Libra) and Pluto (in Capricorn). Volcanic winter likely between now and 2015.
  • 2020. Triple conjunction Pluto/Saturn/Jupiter in Capricorn, Uranus in early Taurus. Volcanic winter also likely by around 2020.
